General services

We offer a full general practice service and run specialist clinics for children and pregnant women, diabetes, asthma, COPD, anti coagulation therapy and smoking cessation. We also have visiting clinicians who offer drugs misuse support.

Please ask at reception for details on the following services:

Vaccinations

Routine and travel vaccinations for all ages are available during surgery times by appointment with our nurses.

We run a flu jab clinic in late October. Ask at reception for further information.

NHS Health Checks

The NHS Health Check programme aims to help prevent heart disease, stroke, diabetes, kidney disease and certain types of dementia.

Everyone between the ages of 40 and 74, who has not already been diagnosed with one of these conditions or have certain risk factors, will be invited (once every five years) to have a check to assess their risk of heart disease, stroke, kidney disease, diabetes and some forms of dementia and will be given support and advice to help them reduce or manage that risk.

Why not book a 20 minute appointment with our Health Care Assistant today for your free NHS Health Check? Appointments are available Monday – Friday 8.40am – 1pm.

Family Planning

We hold a family planning clinic at the practice.

We provide advice on contraception including coil fitting and provision of free condoms.

Child surveillance clinic

A drop-in clinic for advice and weight checking is available at the practice. Vaccinations for all children up to age 5.

Asthma

The practice offers regular check-ups and advice from practice nurses on lifestyle, inhaler techniques and medication.

Travel Health

Stay safe and healthy abroad

If you are travelling abroad you may need to be vaccinated. Please make an appointment with the practice nurse to discuss the vaccinations you will need, which will depend on where you are travelling.

It is important to make this initial appointment at least eight weeks before you travel so that the vaccines can be ordered. You will need a second appointment to receive the vaccinations.  Your second appointment should be at least two weeks before you travel to allow the vaccines to work.

Some travel vaccines are ordered on a private prescription which cost more than the normal prescription charge. This is because not all travel vaccinations are included in the services provided by the NHS.
